Welcome to your new wonderland: www.indie.com.au - a weblog featuring products made by independent Australian artists, designers & craftspeople. Here you will find signposts to many wonderful items, which are not easily found through search engines alone. They also review our favourite retail stores where these treasures may be lurking, smirking & just waiting to be discovered.
Things this cool can only be described as a revelation! xxx

Since 2004 Tiny Showcase has been making friends with amazing and talented people who create beautiful artwork. Every week they pick a new piece of tiny artwork and turn it into a limited-run print production.
A percentage of the money from each artwork sold is donated to a charity chosen by the artist. Take a look - be inspired.
June 8th through June 18th, 2010 Tiny Showcase has a beautiful print on offer by Jen Corace, it is very affordable & the best bit… $15 from each print sale goes to the Gulf Restoration Network. Art that changes the world…it’s right up our ally! Already they have raised over $7,830. If you are interested go give some money to help a horrible situation and receive a very lovely artwork…
the Freedom For Alice project is about promoting art and things that moves humanity to a better place.
from the smile and whimsical daydreams that linger after looking at pretty things through to the soul challenging reality of poverty and modern day slavery - the Freedom For Alice project seeks to help everyone to be the change that makes the difference in their world.
sometimes seeing the depth of need across the earth and then considering our lifestyles can be overwhelming. to have so much, to waste so much and to realise that even though you could help someone else, you would rather not because you see it as an inconvenience is quite a natural and startling realisation.
so what if we take a deep breath and simply make a commitment to make room in our hearts for more. to make room to simply care about others, to make room to hear their stories and room to consider them…maybe making a difference won’t seem to overwhelming after all.
